Tim & Marie
Tim & Marie were first introduced by a friend in 2014, but we were both too
preoccupied with life to make anything of it. In 2015 we both ended up at the
same tech conference in Portland, but again missed the opportunity to connect.
In 2016 God finally had to take matters into His own hands; He orchestrated our
teams at work to collaborate closely for a month and that’s when we finally
noticed each other. Marie remembers thinking,
“that guy really needs a girlfriend!” And Tim finally took notice of how
amazing & interesting Marie was! After making up excuses to stop by her office
regularly for a few weeks, he finally got up the courage to ask her out, and
the rest is history!

Albuquerque and 45 minutes from Santa

a well maintained gravel road.

2017. Hors d’oeuvre, dinner, dancing, and general good times will follow.

Travel
Getting To New Mexico
For those of you flying in from out of town, the Albuquerque International
Sunport (ABQ) is your destination airport.
Flights might be a bit more expensive than usual because the Albuquerque
Balloon Fiesta starts on October 7th as well. If you’ve never been to
Balloon Fiesta before, it’s quite spectacular. you might consider sticking
around for an extra day or two to check it out.
Getting Around Once You’re Here
We will not be providing transportation to/from the wedding, so we recommend
renting a car at the airport.
Hotels
Albuquerque and Santa Fe are full of hotels within an hour’s drive of the
Hacienda. The Inn at Santa Fe is
just 35 minutes away. There are also a number of Airbnb
rentals available in
Albuquerque,
Santa
Fe,
and near the small towns of Madrid and Los
Cerrillos
close to the Hacienda.
Stuff to Do
The fall is a wonderful time to visit New Mexico! Here are a few events and
activities that you might enjoy while visiting.
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The Balloon Fiesta, the
largest hot air balloon event in the world, will be taking place October 7th
through 15th this year. The Saturday and Sunday morning mass
ascension involve
hundreds of balloons rapidly taking off all around you from a 78 acre field.
At evening balloon
glows, hundreds of
balloons remain grounded and all fire their burners at the same time. It’s all
quite spectacular!
Meow Wolf
The Meow Wolf House of Eternal Return in
Santa Fe is an explorable, immersive art installation filled with technology,
and fantastic environments to inspire visitors of all ages. The House contains
dozens of rooms, secret passages and interactive light and musical objects with
which guests can play for hours or investigate the mystery of the Selig family,
who disappeared one night after conducting a forbidden experiment inside their
Victorian mansion. This place is amazing for adventurous kids and adults
alike! And it’s where we had our second date.
Sandia Peak Tramway
The Sandia Peak Tramway is the longest aerial
tram in the United States, connecting the northeast edge of Albuquerque with
the top of the Sandia mountains. A quick 15 minute ride brings you to 10,378’
for beautiful views and a network of hiking trails. Keep in mind that it can
be significantly cooler at the top of the mountain, so consider bringing
a sweater or jacket.
Madrid, NM
Madrid, NM, once a historic coal mining town
and ghost town, is now a creative artists’ community with over 40 shops and
galleries, several restaurants, a spa and museum.
Santa Fe, NM
Santa Fe has long been a center for arts and culture
and ranks as the country’s third largest art market. You’ll find nearly 300
galleries and dealers to explore. We’ve got more than 200 restaurant choices
ranging from our local New Mexican flavors to creative Southwestern cuisine to
authentic world cuisines.
Registry
Together we already have two houses full of stuff, so no gifts please.
Adoption Fund
If you would like to give us a gift, we would greatly appreciate a contribution to
our adoption fund. Due to Marie’s health, this will be the only way we can
grow our newly formed family. Thank you!
